Two new maps, two completely different gameplay experiences: Since Season 5 "Siege of Vegas," you've been fighting on the Vegas Strip and in Area 51 in Battlefield 6. The developers have released their own map guide for these, featuring objectives, design philosophies, and concrete tips. We've summarized the most important points for you.
The maps are part of the season launch, which we covered in our report on the live launch of Season 5 "Siege of Vegas". This guide goes a step deeper, showing how to approach the locations in Battlefield 6 effectively.
How to play the Vegas Strip correctly
The Vegas Strip is a dense urban battleground amidst casinos, hotels, and famous landmarks. The map offers variety: one moment you're fighting through a hotel lobby, the next through sewers beneath the boulevard, or from a hotel room on an upper floor.
The EA team highlights several key areas:
- Olympus Lobby: An infantry-focused objective with vertical combat. You can infiltrate via the valet area or staff entrances, or use a zipline to reach the roof and push down through the collapsed dome.
- The Crater in the Middle: A massive impact crater surrounded by the wrecks of a destroyed PAX convoy. Above, infantry and vehicles battle on open streets; below, sewers and tunnels offer close-quarters combat and a safer route through the map's center.
- Karat Plaza: A large public square with fountains and vegetation. A destructible casino sign stands at the center and significantly changes the combat once it falls. Most engagements occur at medium range, with long-range fights developing more on the edges.
- The Destroyed Hotel: Inside, debris and collapse damage prevail. Infantry fight in the remnants of the building, while ground vehicles pressure the area around the objective.
The official tips are: Don't charge straight down the Strip; instead, use cover, alternative routes, and squad support. Secure rooftops and upper floors before assaulting an objective, and use the PAX convoy wreck in the middle for cover. Vehicles help you quickly move between objectives without being caught in the open. Recon players provide intelligence, and helicopters can use the skyline for rapid repositioning.

What does Area 51 offer above and below ground?
Area 51 combines desert vehicle warfare with a hidden research complex beneath. Above, tanks, helicopters, and jets engage in battles over the dry lakebed and mountains. Below, squads fight through tunnels, labs, and sealed research rooms.
- Comms Area: Located on a hill, with good sightlines for defenders. This objective is valuable for infantry and also supports aerial combat above.
- Helipad: Built into the mountain and a strong observation point. Popular with Recon players, teams also gain anti-air options against enemy aircraft here.
- The Crater: The center of infantry combat. A network of tunnels, garages, abandoned labs, and defensive positions. Three objectives are located here, ensuring constant close-quarters battles.
- Aircraft Control Tower: At the start of the match, a powerful sniper's nest on the upper floors. If it remains standing, defenders can control large parts of the map. If it falls, the fight shifts to the rubble.
- Hot and Cold Climate Hangar: The hot hangar brings infantry and armored vehicles together, while the cold one is an infantry-focused objective in a test facility full of experimental aircraft.
Here too, there are developer recommendations: Recon players should utilize towers and mountain ridges, Engineers should slow tank assaults and hold objectives, and pilots should fly along the surrounding mountains. You should secure the Control Tower early. If defenders hold it, the attacking team can blow it up, completely changing the engagement. Also, maintain pressure on the underground objectives, as controlling the crater network provides a strong foothold in the center.

What is crucial on both maps?
This paragraph reflects our assessment, not a developer statement: Both maps reward squads that split up and change levels rather than blindly rushing an objective. On the Strip, a squad that simultaneously occupies rooftops and sewers will find success. In Area 51, control often hinges on who controls vehicles above while fielding enough infantry below. Neglecting either will lead to being overrun in one of the two spaces.
Phase 2 of the season will add the next map on November 10, as we reported in our article on the Casino Map and the Casino Heist event. The fundamentals learned here regarding verticality and route selection should also assist you there, although this is currently just our expectation.
