Modern Warfare 4: The Best ISO-Nightshade Build for Multiplayer

The ISO Nightshade is one of the starting SMGs in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 and, according to VGC, ranks among the best weapons in multiplayer with the right attachments. The best part: You unlock most of the required parts early. Since the launch of Modern Warfare 4, this build is also accessible for newcomers.

What Attachments Does the Nightshade Meta Build Require?

  • Muzzle: XRK Herder 40 or Tactical Silencer
  • Underbarrel: FSS TAC90 Grip or Angled Short Grip
  • Laser: Schlager Visiv-5 or Bright ADS Laser

The author of this recommendation deliberately omits an optic. So you can use the sight you feel most comfortable with.

What Does This Build Offer In-Game?

The combination sacrifices some handling and mobility, but significantly increases range and accuracy. The Nightshade is intended as a close-quarters weapon, but according to VGC, this setup also makes it viable at medium distances. VGC has also published its own meta build for the M4.

Practically, this means: The Nightshade forgives mistakes in close quarters because the build increases its range and accuracy. Especially on tight maps and in objective modes where you constantly stumble into engagements, it plays to its strengths. If you don't want to be noticed by a suppressor's muzzle flash, opt for the Tactical Silencer; if you're looking for more control, try the Herder 40.

Who Is the Nightshade Suitable For?

From our perspective, this is a classic beginner's tip: You don't have to grind for hours to get the parts. Those who prefer to play at range should look to an assault rifle instead. Meta builds change quickly after balance patches, so check the stats after every update.

Our advice: First, test the build in a few matches with both variants per slot, for example, Silencer vs. Herder 40 or Angled Short Grip vs. FSS TAC90. Every playstyle reacts differently to recoil and handling values, and you'll quickly notice which combination suits your pace. If you later venture to the M4, VGC also has its own recommendation for that.
