Some GTA 6 fans are taking their detective work a little too seriously: A section of the community believes they've found the real-life inspiration for a nudist beach shown in the game – and has since been making life difficult for the real-life operator.
What Real-Life Location Is Allegedly the GTA 6 Inspiration?
The target is the Cypress Cove Nudist Resort in Kissimmee, Florida. Fans compared screenshots and trailer scenes from GTA 6 with aerial photos of real nudist facilities in Florida, discovering striking similarities to a location in the in-game state of Leonida. Instead of leaving it at theory, some took it further: Google was suddenly bombarded with dozens of fake reviews alluding to GTA 6 characters like Lucia and Jason Duval, along with references to binoculars, pools, and firearms from the game.
How Is the Operator Reacting to the Flood of Reviews?
The resort did not stay silent. In a public response to one of the fake reviews, management clarified that these were coordinated, fabricated posts – including attempts to extort money for the alteration or deletion of the reviews. The operators unequivocally stated: No payment or negotiation would take place; the incidents had been documented and reported. With a wink, they also noted that Cypress Cove is in Florida – not Leonida, the fictional GTA 6 state.

As curious as the case may seem, it's no fun for the actual business. For a resort, genuine Google reviews directly determine whether potential guests book or shy away. A wave of clearly fabricated reviews may be obvious to those in the know, but it still deters people who aren't familiar with the context and simply want to plan a quiet weekend.
Has This Happened Before with GTA?
The phenomenon isn't entirely new: With previous GTA installments, fans also tried to identify real-life inspirations for fictional locations – but usually, it remained theories in forums, not harassment campaigns against real businesses. The fact that a portion of the community is now moving directly from speculation to extorting a real business shows how much the hype surrounding GTA 6 is now crossing boundaries that were not crossed with previous Rockstar games.
Just a few days ago, Rockstar caused a stir with a controversial advertising campaign in Miami Beach – the hype surrounding the November 19 release is now clearly leading to tangible excesses within the community.
