Silent Hill Townfall: Playtime and All Key Puzzle Solutions at a Glance

Silent Hill Townfall releases tomorrow, September 24, 2026, and many of you are likely already wondering what to expect. That's why we've compiled the most important facts about the playtime, as well as solutions for three of the trickiest puzzles in this new horror journey, into one guide – so you won't have to stumble through the fog of St. Amelia on your own if you get stuck.

How Long Does Silent Hill Townfall Last and How Many Chapters Does the Game Have?

According to research by our colleagues at GamePro, you should expect over 10 hours of playtime for a single playthrough. How long you actually take will heavily depend on how easily you solve the puzzles, how skillfully you evade monsters, and whether you want to collect all the collectibles along the way. Structurally, Silent Hill Townfall is divided into six chapters, each focusing on a large, visually distinct area. You won't spend the entire time in the fishing village; instead, you'll be sent to short segments in other locations periodically.

What's the Smartest Way to Approach Puzzles in Silent Hill Townfall?

The puzzles in the game follow a familiar Silent Hill principle: almost every solution is already hidden in the environment, usually in the form of notes, signs, or objects that seem incidental at first glance. Our tip: really read every document you find carefully, and make note of conspicuous numbers, names, or years – they almost always reappear later. If you're struggling, you should also calmly take a step back and re-search rooms you've already visited, rather than getting stuck on a single puzzle.

How Do You Solve the Patient Puzzle with Zoe in the Hospital?

In the “The Patient” section, you take on the role of nurse Zoe to care for a critical patient. The puzzle consists of several consecutive steps that you must complete in this order:

  • First, read the vital signs from the three devices next to the bed: blood pressure (around 70 to 40), pulse (162), and oxygen saturation (80 percent SpO2).
  • Next, operate the X-ray machine and take two images of the patient – one of the skull and one of the chest.
  • After that, set the correct dosages on the three medication pumps and activate each pump individually once the value is correct.
  • Finally, you'll need an intubation kit from storage. You call for it using the telephone at the station, after which the kit will be sent to you via elevator. This is followed by a short dexterity mini-game where you have to repeatedly move a gauge into the correct position and hold it until the process is complete.

What is the Code for the Combination Lock on the Shed in the Community Gardens?

The shed in the Community Gardens belongs to a resident named Jane and is secured with a combination lock. You won't find the crucial clue on the shed itself, but rather somewhat hidden in the environment:

  • Take a closer look at the small name tags and plaques on the individual garden beds in the complex.
  • One of these plaques identifies Jane as the winner of a “Community Spirit Award” from a specific year.
  • Exactly this year is the combination you're looking for: Enter the code 1993 on the lock to open it.
  • Inside the shed, you'll then immediately find the key for the Community Gardens gate; there are no further puzzles at this spot.

How Does the Scales Puzzle in the Doctor's Office Work?

In the small doctor's office, you'll encounter three empty scales onto which you must place a specific item from your inventory. Here too, a found document – a termination letter from the clinic – provides the crucial clues for the correct order:

  • The three items you need are a broken stethoscope, a note about a dosage error on a prescription, and Zoe's employee ID on a lanyard.
  • The broken stethoscope is located in a medical box on a bed in a house on Farrow Street.
  • You retrieve the note about the dosage error from a locked locker in the back of the pharmacy, which you open with the code 6539.
  • You would have already obtained Zoe's ID from an organ transport box, granting you access to the clinic.
  • For the scales, the order from left to right is: the stethoscope on the left scale, the note about the dosage error on the middle scale, and Zoe's ID on the right scale. The connection is revealed in the termination letter, which successively alludes to a lack of listening, a negligent error, and finally the person's actual role in the job.

Compared to previous Silent Hill installments, the puzzles in Townfall seem fair but not trivial: the solutions can almost always be deduced from environmental details and text documents, but they require careful reading and a bit of patience when searching rooms – classic Silent Hill pacing, which deliberately prioritizes atmosphere over quick solutions. How this pace affects the stealth sections and overall playability has already been extensively covered in our review of Silent Hill Townfall. All further information about the game and its release can be found on the official Silent Hill: Townfall website as well as in Konami's official announcement regarding the release.
