Rumor: Bend Studio to Announce New PlayStation Game in 2027 – No Days Gone Sequel

Important Note: This is a rumor that has NOT yet been officially confirmed by Sony or Bend Studio.

It has been quiet for a long time around the Bend Studio developers of Days Gone. Now, MP1st claims to have learned what the team is working on. Eurogamer is picking up the report.

What is Bend Studio rumored to release next?

According to MP1st, which cites “people with insight into what's happening at Bend,” the studio's next game is rumored to be announced in 2027 and released in the same year. Reports suggest it will be played from a third-person perspective, offer co-op support, and do without live-service elements.

The report does not state whether it is a new IP or an existing one. However, it is explicitly said to not be a successor to Days Gone. Allegedly, the project is “significantly further along” than one might assume from the outside.

Why has it been so quiet around Bend for so long?

According to Bend, no new game has been released since Days Gone launched in 2019. In 2022, the studio spoke of a new IP built upon Days Gone's open-world systems and featuring multiplayer elements. Two years later, a job advertisement described a triple-A live-service project. This game was canceled in 2025, leading to layoffs at the studio some months later. Since then, Bend has not commented publicly.

What does this mean for PlayStation fans?

From our perspective, a single-player focus with a co-op option would be a welcome departure from the live-service direction that proved costly for Bend recently. However, until Sony confirms anything, this remains a rumor: there are no concrete details such as a title, setting, or release date. Since 2026 is almost over, the wait for an unveiling should be manageable – but there is no official date.
