Sony State of Play: All the Other Announcements from the Big Showcase

The latest State of Play was packed. Of course, the big headlines were dominated by the limited GTA 6 controllers and the release date for Final Fantasy VII Revelation. The new, bloody trailer for Until Dawn 2 also sparked discussion. But amidst the major reveals, Sony showcased quite a bit more that might easily get lost if you only focus on the top stories. What Other Smaller Games Were Shown at State of Play?

• Rhapsody in Scarlet: Newly announced for PS5. An action game set in 1920s New York – gangster era, jazz atmosphere; initial impressions suggest a very unique stylistic approach. According to the official PlayStation Blog, the game will combine classic action elements with an authentic gangster setting.
• Three New PS Plus Games: Sony also confirmed three upcoming titles for the PS Plus Catalog 2026. According to GamePro, details on the exact games and their addition date will be available soon.
• Keeper Also Coming to PS5: Double Fine's adventure game “Keeper” was previously an Xbox exclusive. That's changing now: The title will also be released for PlayStation 5, as reported by VGC, among others.

Any News Beyond PlayStation?

Shortly after Sony's showcase, Xbox also chimed in: The current Free Play Days run from September 3 to 6, 2026, and include EA Sports College Football 27 and The Survivalists, both of which are free to play during the promotional period. While not directly part of the Sony event, it's timely and relevant for subscribers.
