When is Pokémon GO Fest 2026: Mega Finale?
The free, non-ticketed global event takes place this weekend, on September 5 and 6, 2026, from 10 AM to 6 PM local time each day. As reported by GameSpot and the fan database LeekDuck, among others, there will be no limit on Remote Raid Passes on both days – a detail that's especially valuable for trainers without many local players.
Which Legendary Pokémon is in the Spotlight This Time?
The main draw of the weekend is Armored Mewtwo, appearing in Five-Star Raids – its first return to Pokémon GO since 2020. However, a shiny variant will not be available during the event. Additionally, there will be Super Mega Raids featuring Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y, as well as rotating habitats with shifting Mega Raid bosses: Raid bosses will change hourly across four different habitats, with each habitat appearing twice per event day.
The Mega Ascension event, from August 31 to September 4, preceded this, serving as a warm-up with rotating Mega Raids, boosted wild spawns, and an increased Remote Raid limit. Players who caught a Pokémon from a Mega Raid during this phase also had a chance to get a special Mega Evolution photo background for their catch.
For the community, a weekend like this is traditionally one of the best opportunities all year to collect rare Mega Energy and boost their Mewtwo collection – especially since Remote Raids are unlimited this time, making participation worthwhile for everyone, even those not living near a busy raid hotspot. Those planning strategically should consider beforehand how many Raid Passes and how much Mega Energy to allocate for their preferred Mewtwo form.
