Today's the day: July's fresh batch for PlayStation Plus goes live, and this time there's truly something for everyone. The absolute standout is Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora from Ubisoft, which is now available in the Extra and Premium catalogs. This open-world action game sends you, as a Na’vi warrior, to a largely unknown part of Pandora to push back the RDA forces – visually still one of the most impressive adaptations of James Cameron's cinematic world.
In addition to Avatar, four more games are making their way into the catalog: the story-driven samurai action game Rise of the Ronin, the dark disaster sim title Firefighting Simulator: Ignite, the zombie apocalypse hit Dying Light, and for a bit of fun, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewind, a genuine retro-look beat ’em up for nostalgics.
Those who want to play the new titles should hurry, because in return, twelve games are saying goodbye to the catalog. Among them are Risk of Rain 2, Tropico 6, and Cursed to Golf – all three will soon disappear from Extra and Premium. If you haven't finished them yet, now's the time to dive in.
For PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers, this is once again a worthwhile update – especially Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is likely to provide many hours of gameplay without having to pay extra for it.
