Modern Warfare 4 Season 1: All Maps, Modes, and Weapons Launching on November 6

Activision has revealed the details for Season 1 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 and Warzone. The season launches on November 6, just two weeks after the game's initial release. It brings with it three new multiplayer maps, two new modes, a fresh DMZ area, and two weapons in the Battle Pass.

What's Coming in Modern Warfare 4 Multiplayer for Season 1?

Three new maps will arrive at launch on November 6, one of which is a remake of a familiar classic:

  • Backstab: A war-torn map featuring bad weather, tank wrecks, and drone ammo within an abandoned house.
  • Canyon: Battles amidst towering rock formations, with locations like Convoy Ambush by the river and the Cliff Path, according to Activision.
  • Shoot House: A reimagined version set in snowy North Korea.
  • Modes: Grind, where you collect dog tags and deposit them at a bank, and Drop Zone, featuring a rotating objective and Killstreak drops.

Additional content will follow in the mid-season: the Ministry map, centered around an embassy; Overflow, set in and around a factory with adjacent farmland; and the Counter Attack mode, where you plant bombs at the enemy radio station and defend your own.

What's New in DMZ and Warzone?

In DMZ, the X01 Weapons Facility opens—a tunnel labyrinth with ever-changing dangers. As extraction points gradually close, you'll need to complete specific steps to escape. Additionally, there are new DMZ Orders, Threat Briefings against the major bosses, and Resupply Runs. Warzone will receive the Hajin and Zodiac maps with new modes and gameplay features; Activision promises a full roadmap soon.

What Weapons and Rewards are in the Battle Pass?

The Battle Pass delivers the Cronen Osprey, a fast and reliable assault rifle, as well as the CSG-35, an SMG boasting the highest fire rate in its class. In total, over 100 pieces of content are packed into the pass, offering a linear track with 100 tiers full of Operator skins, weapon blueprints, and finishing moves. A new catch-up system is also introduced: Players who fall behind in the Premium Pass will automatically be advanced to the reward progress of the current season day, up to a maximum of Day 50. This guarantees at least 50 rewards.

What Does This Mean for You as a Player?

The catch-up system is a practical change: latecomers will no longer automatically fall behind. Especially after the launch, which we covered in our launch overview, this should appeal to many who join later. From our perspective, it's interesting to see if the DMZ innovations address the criticisms we compiled in our DMZ article. X01 sounds like it will add more pressure and encourage more teamwork; whether that holds up remains to be seen in-game. Among the maps, the remake of Shoot House is likely to attract veterans.
