With the launch of Modern Warfare 4, Kill Block is also live – and the map puts an end to memorizing routes. According to Xbox Wire, the training ground reassembles itself after every match, ensuring no two rounds are the same.
How Does Kill Block Work in Modern Warfare 4?
The setting is the West Bridge Advanced Military Training Facility. The complex consists of three modular sections: two outer areas, called End Slabs, and a central area, the Central Slab. After every match, these Slabs are recombined. This changes routes, sightlines, and cover dynamically during gameplay.
- According to the source, there are over 500 possible configurations available at launch; overall, the developers speak of hundreds of layouts.
- At launch, Kill Block supports 3v3 as well as the new 10v10 Gunfight mode. More core modes are planned to follow later.
- Most Slabs are completely new. Others reference well-known locations: Crash from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (2007), Storage Town from Warzone's Verdansk, and Shoot House from Modern Warfare (2019).
- Weather simulations can introduce rain or snow into the game, thereby limiting visibility.
The Slabs are rectangular, featuring car wrecks, concrete blocks, and barriers as cover. Some doors can be shot open, kicked open, or quietly opened.
What Tactics Help on the Map?
The author of the Xbox Wire article already played Kill Block in the beta. His tip: learn the Central Slab first. It's always connected to the adjacent Slabs and offers attacks from multiple angles – that's where teams usually clash, according to his experience. From there, you work your way outwards. Markings like construction signs, grenade trails, arrows, and numbers help to recognize sections you've already seen.
What Does This Mean for Players Who Play Modern Warfare 4?
From our perspective, Kill Block is a risky experiment. The appeal lies in the fact that no permanent camping spots can become entrenched, because the environment constantly changes. The flip side: those who prefer a fixed map with practiced routes will get the opposite here. Whether Kill Block will impress in the long run remains to be seen once more modes are supported. You can find more about the game's status in our report that Modern Warfare 4 was rated 89 percent on Steam. Also, the return of Shipment on October 27th has already been confirmed. All information about the game can be found on the official Modern Warfare 4 website.
