GTA 6: Standard or Ultimate Edition? Why the Premium Price Tag Is Better Saved for Later

On November 19, 2026, GTA 6 will be released for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Rockstar offers two pricing tiers: The Standard Edition costs 79.99 Euros, while the Ultimate Edition is 99.99 Euros. Are the extra 20 Euros worth it? According to PC Games: not immediately.

What's Included in the GTA 6 Ultimate Edition?

The Ultimate Edition is more than just a skin pack. According to PC Games, it includes:

  • Vehicles: including the Grotti Cheetah (1995), Vapid Dominator Buggy (1967) with a garage, and Shitzu Squalo
  • Weapons: the Hawk & Little Morgan revolver and personalized pistols for Jason and Lucia
  • Appearance: exclusive outfits, hairstyles, and tattoos
  • Five Businesses: two custom shops, a barbershop, a clothing store, and a tattoo parlor (Electric Fang with over 50 designs)
  • Activities: a PTT Youngin$ gang territory to raid, and a classic car collection

According to Rockstar, not all extras will be unlocked at launch but rather distributed throughout the story.

Can You Upgrade to the Ultimate Edition Later?

Yes, and that's the crucial detail. Anyone who buys the Standard Edition can upgrade at any time. In the Xbox Store, the upgrade currently costs exactly 20 Euros. Ultimately, you'll pay the same as if you bought the Ultimate Edition directly. You can start playing first and decide later if custom shops, tattoos, and gang territories are worth the extra cost.

Pre-order customers also receive the Vintage Vice City Pack, regardless of the edition, which includes a 1955 Vapid Stanier with a garage, outfits, hairstyles, and a weapon livery.

Is Rockstar Selling Game World Content Separately?

From our perspective, this is the critical point. A car or outfit in the premium version isn't a big deal. But with businesses and activities, it feels different because they belong to the open world. It's impossible to judge whether Rockstar intentionally held content out of the Standard Edition. We won't know how substantial these extras truly are until after release. Because of the upgrade option, there's no pre-purchase stress for the Ultimate Edition.
