Heads up, Master Chief fans: Starting today, July 23, 2026, Early Access begins for Halo: Campaign Evolved. However, it's only for a select group: Those who pre-ordered the Premium Edition ($69.99) or the Collector’s Edition can jump in five days early, starting at 8 AM PDT, before anyone else.
This offers the complete remake of the original Halo campaign, revamped with HD graphics, overhauled cutscenes, and a brand-new, three-part bonus story that wasn't in the original. Players can experience it solo, in classic 2-player split-screen on console, or in online co-op with up to four players – including crossplay and cross-progression across all platforms.
The full release for everyone will follow on July 28, 2026, simultaneously for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam. Pre-ordering also secures the cosmetic “Foundry Armory” pack. With this, Xbox is fully leaning into the nostalgia factor, while combining it with genuine next-gen improvements in technology and scope.
For those who want to jump in now: Early Access runs until the full release, and save data and progress will transfer seamlessly afterward. If you're still undecided, you can take your time to get a feel for the game in the first few days before the rest of the community joins on July 28.
