GTA 6: Rockstar Releases Nearly 40 New Screenshots Two Weeks Before Launch

Two weeks before release, Rockstar is ramping up its efforts: The studio has published a gallery of almost 40 brand-new screenshots for Grand Theft Auto VI. The launch is set for November 19, 2026.

What do the new GTA 6 screenshots show?

According to Videogames Chronicle, we get a glimpse of various locations in Leonida. Additionally, there are new shots of Jason and Lucia, as well as some supporting characters. Rockstar itself promotes the gallery on the official game page as a “stunning look inside Leonida.”

The images are predominantly cinematic. Therefore, they offer little insight into actual gameplay; VGC refers to the gameplay reveal shared via Netflix in August for that.

Rockstar's cautious advertising campaign before November 19

The screenshots align with what has characterized the GTA 6 marketing campaign so far: Rockstar shows little and curates it strictly. The studio apparently wants to reveal as little as possible. However, this plan was severely disrupted by massive leaks during development. Particularly severe was the case of a leaker or group named Cyberleek, who apparently had access to the game months before release and posted complete gameplay clips online.

Officially, only a launch trailer is expected to follow. Otherwise, VGC suggests, Rockstar seems to want us to wait until release to get our hands on the game. GTA 6 will be released on November 19 for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, with a PC version expected later.

What remains unknown before launch?

Our assessment: After numerous delays and concerns that the game might slip into 2027, the flood of screenshots feels like a signal of certainty. However, those who base purchasing decisions on technology or gameplay mechanics will not find new answers from these images. Important for all digital purchasers: You can find everything about the pre-download in our report on the preload starting November 10, which requires 212 GB of storage. And for those who want to pass the time until release with some atmosphere, our overview of the radio stations shown so far offers more content.
