Apex Legends x Godzilla: Event Starts November 10 With 19 Skins And Godzilla On Storm Point

Godzilla will soon be stomping through the arena: Apex Legends is getting a collaboration event with the Kaiju King on November 10. This coincides with the theatrical release of Godzilla Minus Zero, which Destructoid reports is today (November 6). Developer Respawn Entertainment is introducing both cosmetics and a map alteration for the event.

What's included in the Apex Legends x Godzilla event?

According to Destructoid, the collaboration includes these features:

  • 10 Legend skins
  • 9 weapon skins
  • Twitch Drops
  • Godzilla as part of Storm Point, including destroyed buildings, scorched trees, and overturned signs
  • Blast Zones where Godzilla's Heat Ray strikes
  • A Care Package containing a Custom-Devotion, whose Heat-Ray attack tracks hit enemies

Respawn describes the situation as follows: Storm Point is in the midst of a Godzilla attack, with the monster towering over the map. Players who enter a Blast Zone before the Heat Ray strikes can secure the special Devotion. This is a classic risk-reward deal, familiar to Apex players from previous map events.

How much will the Godzilla event cost in Apex Legends?

The catch is the price. Destructoid states there are 35 event items in total. Those looking to unlock everything will pay 29,300 Apex Coins or 57,750 Crafting Metals. The author translates this to approximately 300 dollars in real money, anticipating similar monetization to previous events.

Is it worth returning for lapsed Apex players?

The Destructoid author's take: They haven't played Apex much in years, but Godzilla on Storm Point is so appealing that they are considering a re-download for November 10. They also draw a comparison to the Godzilla and King Kong event from Call of Duty: Warzone a few years ago. This is their personal assessment, not confirmed information from Respawn.

Our assessment: Map events featuring a giant monster are precisely what keeps a battle royale alive after years, as they significantly alter the feel of a familiar map. The crucial factor will be whether the Heat Ray merely spices up matches or becomes a chaotic element. That will only become clear starting November 10. Whether the prices for all cosmetics are worth it remains a matter of personal preference. We did not have primary evidence from EA or Respawn at the time of writing, so the details are sourced from Destructoid.

Will you be getting the complete Godzilla set or just a Legend skin and the Devotion?
