The time has come: This Thursday, Netflix is exclusively showcasing an extensive “Extended Look” at Grand Theft Auto 6 – even before its official Rockstar release on YouTube. We'll tell you when you need to tune in and what to expect.
When is the GTA 6 Extended Look Airing on Netflix?
The premiere kicks off at 12 PM PT / 3 PM ET – which for us in Germany is 9 PM (CEST). The clip will be exclusive to Netflix subscribers for six hours before it's released for free to everyone: Starting at 6 PM PT / 9 PM ET, or approximately 3 AM German time on Friday, Rockstar Games will additionally publish the footage on their official YouTube channel and the GTA VI website.
What Exactly Does the Extended Look Show?
According to Netflix's own announcement, the footage consists entirely of in-game recordings, captured on PlayStation 5. It is expected to showcase the series' biggest and most immersive evolution to date. Leaks suggest the clip could be up to 30 minutes long – significantly more than a typical trailer.
Why is Rockstar Showing the Extended Look Now of All Times?
The timing is no coincidence: In recent days, several leaked clips of GTA 6 have been circulating, including a complete prison prologue featuring Lucia. Rockstar itself recently commented on the wave of leaks in clear terms – our report on the studio's official reaction summarizes this. An officially sanctioned, high-quality Extended Look gives Rockstar back control over the narrative, instead of continuing to leave the field open to unauthorized leaks.
