Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Warzone Season 6 “The Haunting” is Now Live

The last major season before the launch of Modern Warfare 4 is here: Season 6 “The Haunting” is live in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Warzone as of today. The content was announced back in early September, and now players can finally jump in – including the highly anticipated DOOM crossover.

What’s New in Call of Duty Season 6 “The Haunting”?

The season brings a complete Halloween package of new and revamped maps, weapons, and events. Here’s an overview of the most important content:

• New Multiplayer Maps: the Arctic facility “Quantum” and the eerie map “Bloodstead”
• Zombies Mode gets the maps “Roadkill,” “Lost,” and “Inferno” for the competitive T.E.D.D. Trials
• Warzone map Haven’s Hollow is transformed into “Haunted Hollow,” including a Giant Infected mode and a ghost train
• New Battle Pass Weapons: the VMP SMG and the TR51 Assault Rifle
• Additionally, the melee weapon “Arcblade” and the special weapon “Roc 20mm” are available via Events and Weekly Challenges
• DOOM Crossover with its own Event Pass and the “Tracer Pack: Doom Demonic Essence” Bundle in the Store

Why is the DOOM Crossover a Big Deal for Fans?

The appearance of the DOOM Slayer is more than just another skin bundle: DOOM is considered one of the most influential shooter brands ever, and crossovers of this magnitude are the exception rather than the rule for Call of Duty. For the community, this is an additional incentive to jump back in right now, even as support for Black Ops 7 gradually enters its final phase with Modern Warfare 4 on the horizon.

From our perspective, the scope of this season also shows that Activision traditionally uses the final weeks before a new main installment to keep player numbers high – anyone who was already considering returning to Warzone or Black Ops 7 now has a good reason to do so with “The Haunting.” While the complete lineup was already known when it was announced earlier this month, it is now actually playable (more background information can be found in our report on the Season 6 announcement).
