Since September 3rd, The Blood of Dawnwalker from developer Rebel Wolves has been available for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S – and as befits a true role-playing game, you, as the main character Coen, can also delve into romantic relationships. We'll show you what romance options are available and how to unlock them in the first place.
What Romance Options Are Available in Blood of Dawnwalker?
In total, three romanceable characters are available to you:
- Anca – considered the most extensively written companion in the game. Her romance is deliberately designed as a “slow burn,” meaning it develops over many hours.
- Lacra – another permanent companion with her own questline, through which a relationship with Coen can be built.
- Crake – the third option, also accessible through unique dialogues and missions.
How Do You Start a Romance with Anca, Lacra, or Crake?
Unlike many other RPGs, Coen isn't limited to a single partner – multiple parallel romances are generally possible. The process is similar for all three characters: Follow their respective questlines, act friendly and supportive in dialogues, and choose the romantic dialogue options at appropriate points. The game clearly marks dialogue lines, so you'll always know whether you're deepening a bond or declining it.
What Should You Pay Special Attention to in Romances?
A point many newcomers underestimate: The Blood of Dawnwalker features a built-in time limit for the main story. This also affects your relationships – if you truly want to deepen a romance, you shouldn't put off the associated side quests for too long, as opportunities might otherwise be missed. From our perspective, it's especially worthwhile to start Anca's questline early, as her story reportedly offers the most emotionally dense narrative arc among the three options, according to consistent reviews.
