Battlefield 6 is currently experiencing a significant surge. Since the launch of Season 4 “Pacific Front”, player numbers have climbed significantly once more, reaching a level not seen in months.
On Steam, Battlefield 6 recently reached 81,745 concurrent players. This is its highest value since February 2026, marking a five-month high. Twitch is also seeing a sharp increase: the viewer peak was around 51,500 concurrent viewers, likewise its highest in months. Both trends clearly indicate that the new update is indeed bringing back players who had previously turned their backs on the game.
The reason for this surge should be clear: Season 4 introduces Tsuru Reef, the series' largest map to date, a Pacific island archipelago featuring beach battles and open water. Additionally, there's entirely new naval content: the RCB-90 Patrol Boat and the NSW RHIB mark the first time proper watercraft are available, complemented by a dynamic wave system that noticeably alters sea combat. For land-based engagements, three new weapons – the EF88, the BREN3, and the VSSM – have been added, alongside changes to the REDSEC Ranked mode.
However, the relaunch isn't entirely smooth: on maps with large water surfaces like Tsuru Reef, owners of Nvidia RTX 50 graphics cards are experiencing increased crashes. EA has since confirmed the issue and recommends that affected players temporarily downgrade to an older driver until a permanent fix is available.
The season runs in three phases in total: following “Pacific Front” are “Top Gun” on August 18th and “Tidal Strike” on September 15th. If the current trend holds, Battlefield 6 should continue its upward trajectory in the coming weeks, crashes or no crashes.
