Human Fall Flat 2 Canceled: Studio Scraps Project, Starts Fresh with Human Fall Flat 3

A surprising turn of events for fans of the clumsy puzzle classic: Human Fall Flat developer No Brakes Games has confirmed that the second installment, announced years ago, is being completely canceled. Studio founder Tomas Sakalauskas explained in an interview that during the development of Human Fall Flat 2, they simply moved in the wrong physical direction, losing exactly what made the original so special: the charming, unwieldy clumsiness of the character Bob.

Instead of trying to salvage the progress made on Part 2 or hastily completing the project, the studio is making a clean break. Development is now essentially starting from scratch, this time directly as Human Fall Flat 3. However, Sakalauskas states that some design ideas from the scrapped sequel will be incorporated into the new project. There is no release date for Part 3 yet.

This backtrack comes at a significant time for the brand: The original recently celebrated its tenth anniversary. During this time, Human Fall Flat has evolved into one of the biggest indie successes ever, with more than 60 million players worldwide on virtually every available platform.

It is rare in the industry for a studio to completely discard a long-announced sequel, developed over many years, rather than simply releasing an inferior product. This move will likely resonate positively with many fans, despite the delay. After all, it shows that No Brakes Games prefers to wait longer rather than dilute the beloved physics-comedy formula.

Therefore, it will likely be some time before concrete information about Human Fall Flat 3 emerges. We will keep you updated as soon as there is news about the successor.
