When Does the Zelda Switch 2 Console Release?

Faster than the game itself: The Zelda Switch 2 in the “Electric Ocarina” design will hit stores on October 29, 2026. Ocarina of Time for Switch 2 will then follow a week later, on November 5, 2026. So, if you want the console on your shelf before the game even launches, make sure to mark down this October date.

What's Included in the Ocarina of Time Bundle?

The photos taken by Nintendo Life show a golden Triforce print on the back of the console, plus a dark green Joy-Con in Kokiri green with golden accents. But the real highlight is the “Electric Ocarina” — a standalone controller in an Ocarina design, which apparently allows you to play melodies directly in the game. Why is Ocarina of Time So Important for the Zelda Anniversary?

It's no coincidence that Nintendo is putting this particular game at the center of the 40-year celebration. Ocarina of Time was released for the Nintendo 64 in 1998 and is still considered by many to be the moment when 3D action-adventure games matured — from its targeting system to camera control and open world, the original set standards that the industry worked with for years. A special console plus a specially developed Ocarina controller is therefore not just any random merchandise, but a tribute to one of the most influential games ever made.
