With the upcoming update Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance, Capcom is introducing a new mechanism called "Boost Bracer" into the game, which is set to noticeably change individual weapon classes. The team has already commented on the changes in several weapon breakdown videos – now, according to PC Gamer, the producer himself has also spoken up and playfully made a prediction: The Hammer will "definitely climb a spot or two" in the weapon popularity rankings.

Capcom has not yet released exact figures for the balance adjustments in text form, but has shown the details in video breakdowns. However, the direction is clear: The Boost Bracer mechanism is intended to give certain, previously less-used weapons like the Hammer more impact and tactical options in combat against the new monsters.

In the Monster Hunter series, the popularity of individual weapon classes is traditionally meticulously tracked by the community and re-discussed after every major update – surveys and usage statistics circulate after every Title Update.
