Season 1 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 and Warzone is live, and with it, the first Battle Pass. Activision released the details on November 5th via Steam News. We're breaking down what's included and which version is worth it for different players.

What's in the Modern Warfare 4 Season 1 Battle Pass?
The Pass offers more than 100 rewards. A new catch-up system ensures that players who start later or fall behind will still receive at least 50 rewards. This takes some pressure off if you don't want to grind every evening.
Key contents at a glance:
- Two new free weapons: the FiNN LMG and the Hyeon burst assault rifle
- Blueprint “Fortune’s Favor” for the FiNN
- Blueprint “Blue Viper” for the Hyeon
- At Tier 100: the Ultra Blueprint “Bellum” for the Mosin-Nagant
- Eight bonus Operator skins, unlocked after completing all 100 Tiers (according to Dexerto, these will be available later in Season 1)
- Double XP Tokens for players, weapons, and Battle Pass
BlackCell: Operator XERO and an M4 Signature Blueprint
The premium BlackCell tier focuses on Agent XERO. According to Dexerto, these contents are included:
- Operator XERO with “Cowled” and “Adder” skins (via BlackCell Challenges)
- Signature Blueprint “Perimeter Lance” for the M4, including “Occultus” and “Exitium” variants
- Blueprints for Kastov 762, Axion, KG-7 Vulcan, ISO Nightshade, Cronen Osprey, and Mosin-Nagant
- “Downpour BlackCell” and “Vantage BlackCell” skins for Blix
- Exclusive universal camos
Players who previously purchased the regular Pass will receive 1,100 COD Points back when upgrading to BlackCell. The Vault Edition unlocks both the Pass and BlackCell directly. According to a price check, the Pass costs 1,100 COD Points, the Bundle 2,400 CP, and BlackCell is expected to cost 29.99 US dollars, including 20 Tier Skips and 1,100 CP. We have not confirmed these figures firsthand, so please check them in the store.

Is BlackCell worth it, or is the regular Pass enough?
Our assessment: The regular Pass is a solid starting point. With the two free weapons and the catch-up system, even casual players will progress significantly. BlackCell is primarily for collectors and those who want XERO and the Signature Blueprints. Since the Pass is credited upon upgrade, you can buy the standard Pass first and then upgrade later without paying extra. This is based on the information provided, but always check the store details before purchasing.
For context: The Season launches with a new weather system in Warzone, which we covered in our report on rain and wind in Warzone. All essential information about the schedule can be found in our announcement about the Season start.
