Things are about to get even louder for the Super Earth armed forces: Helldivers 2 is getting a new Premium Warbond, "Ironclad Democracy," which focuses entirely on heavy firepower and tank support. Developer Arrowhead Game Studios surprisingly unveiled the Warbond on September 15th in the official PlayStation Blog, and GameStar has now provided context for the announcement in a video.
What New Weapons Does the Ironclad Democracy Warbond Bring to Helldivers 2?
"Ironclad Democracy" is already the 21st Premium Warbond for Helldivers 2 and is entirely themed around heavy firepower and anti-tank capabilities. According to the official announcement, these new additions await you:
- GL-15 Evictor: A new grenade launcher as a primary weapon with a pump-action mechanism and manual single reload.
- AR-11 Arbitrator: An assault rifle with an electrical ignition mechanism, caseless ammunition, and an integrated underbarrel shotgun for close quarters.
- P-34 Breacher: A new secondary weapon, a rocket pistol that pierces targets with phosphorus-powered sticky projectiles.
- G-60 Anti-Tank Seeker: A throwable homing drone that automatically targets armored enemies and explodes on impact.
- G-8 Immolation: A Molotov-like incendiary grenade that sets a wide area ablaze.
- Two new armor sets with the new "Blunt-Force Mitigation" passive ability, as well as a Booster that grants additional uses of the Anti-Tank Stratagem per deployment.
- Tank reinforcements in the form of camouflage patterns: With "Verdant," "Glacial," and "Executive," vehicles will receive their own Warbond-exclusive paint jobs for the first time.
When Does the Ironclad Democracy Warbond Release, and What Does It Cost?
The Warbond officially launches on Tuesday, September 22nd, simultaneously for PS5, Xbox, and PC. You can unlock it for 1,000 Super Credits via the Warbonds section in the Acquisition Center directly in-game. "Ironclad Democracy" does not bring new Stratagems – making it, according to the announcement, only the second Premium Warbond since "Freedom’s Flame" to completely forgo new Stratagems and instead focus on weapons, armor, and cosmetics.
From our perspective, the focus on tank paint jobs and an Anti-Tank Booster indicates where Arrowhead wants to push the current meta: Players who regularly rely on vehicle reinforcements on the Automaton front will find this Warbond offers noticeably more reasons to deploy Stratagems like the Expendable Anti-Tank more often. For dedicated players who already fight armored Automaton units on higher difficulty levels, investing Super Credits in this Warbond should be particularly worthwhile.
