Halo Campaign Evolved: How to Find All Skulls and Terminals

For those looking to achieve 100 percent completion in Halo Campaign Evolved, finding all the hidden collectibles is a must. There are a total of 42 Skulls in the campaign: 39 of these you'll need to manually track down in missions, while three more are unlocked automatically as you progress. In addition, there are 13 Terminals, spread across the same number of missions – meaning each individual mission hides exactly three Skulls and one Terminal.

What's the Easiest Way to Find Skulls in Halo Campaign Evolved?

The most important trick: each Skull emits a faint whisper or hiss that grows louder the closer you get. So, feel free to venture off the main path and listen carefully as soon as you hear suspicious rustling anywhere. Don't worry if you miss a Skull in a mission: nothing is missable; you can replay any mission at any time via chapter selection and collect it later. As an example from the first mission, “The Pillar of Autumn”: The “Speed Limit” Skull is located in the starting room on a raised platform above two adjacent containers, you'll find “Magnified” in the large room B02L halfway up a machinery unit, and “Perspective” is one level below the cockpit, right next to the ladder, after you've met Captain Keyes. The corresponding Terminal is hidden in an easy-to-miss room in the final sections of the game: As soon as you go through the door at the end of the damaged control room with the shattered window, immediately turn left instead of continuing straight.

What Do I Get for Collecting All Skulls and Terminals?

Finding all 39 collectible Skulls and all 13 Terminals unlocks the “Collector’s Addition” achievement. The Terminals are more than just an achievement checkbox: they contain additional lore videos that delve deeper into the background story of the Halo campaign than the main plot does – by far the biggest incentive for series fans to truly scour every corner of the levels. From our perspective, the collecting is especially worthwhile for newcomers diving into the classic Halo universe for the first time via Campaign Evolved: the Terminals provide precisely the context that the action-heavy campaign itself doesn't always deliver.
