Rockstar appears to be bringing GTA 6 to your fridge soon. As IGN reports, the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) in the USA has approved labels for three GTA beer brands. This was discovered by the fan site iGrandTheftAuto.
Which GTA Beers Have Surfaced?
The labels are for brands you'll recognize from previous GTA titles: Patriot Beer and Pißwasser. A new addition is 'No Mames Vice City,' which features a small dog wearing sunglasses and a Vice City chain on its label. The beers are being produced by Florida-based Tripping Animals Brewing. The 'No Mames Vice City' lager has an alcohol content of 6 percent, while the other two are at 4.2 percent – matching Bud Light's ABV, according to IGN.
When and Where Will the Beers Be Available?
That remains unclear. IGN emphasizes that it's currently unclear when and where these beverages will be sold. Potential avenues include exclusive promotions in bars around Miami, a city Rockstar has, according to IGN, practically taken over for GTA 6 with in-universe advertising, a massive Vice City blimp over Florida, and a Vice City game played in the renovated Miami Heat arena in November. While online sales are also a possibility, they make less sense if the goal is local events.
The campaign extends beyond Florida: According to IGN, Rockstar is also promoting the game in Paris, New York City, Chicago, and Los Angeles. It's unclear if other cities will see more than just posters and billboards. Those in Germany likely won't find these beers in supermarkets for the time being – there's no information regarding international availability yet.
For context: Real-world brand collaborations for GTA 6 already have a history, as Edeka previously sold the game a week before its release. From our perspective, this beer promotion primarily demonstrates one thing: Rockstar is massively expanding the GTA 6 brand ahead of its November 19 release for Xbox Series X|S and PS5 – leveraging iconic in-game brands that fans have known for years.
