GTA 6: An Extended Look Premieres August 27 – First Exclusively on Netflix

Things are finally stirring again regarding GTA 6. Rockstar Games has officially confirmed that an "Extended Look" at Grand Theft Auto 6 will premiere on August 27th – first exclusively on Netflix.

Specifically, here's how it will work: At 9 PM CEST (3 PM EST in the USA), Netflix will exclusively show the extended look first. Only six hours later, at 3 AM CEST, will the video then also appear on Rockstar Games' official YouTube channel. So, if you don't want to wait until the middle of the night, you'll need a Netflix subscription on August 27th.

Neither Rockstar nor Netflix has revealed what exactly to expect from the "Extended Look" so far. However, the name suggests that it will be more extensive than previous trailers. As a reminder: So far, there have been two GTA 6 trailers, one in December 2023 and one in May 2025 – but Rockstar has withheld actual gameplay from the community until today. Perhaps that will finally change now.

The collaboration with Netflix is at least an unusual move for Rockstar, which has almost exclusively used its own channels for its reveals until now. Whether this remains a one-time experiment or part of a larger marketing strategy before release remains to be seen. We'll keep you updated as soon as there's new information.
