Epic Games has already officially confirmed that Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4, titled "Override," will launch on August 20th – we reported on this in our article about the official season launch. However, according to dataminers, the content of the new season has now supposedly leaked – and it sounds like one of the biggest crossover seasons of all time.
These Gaming Icons Are Allegedly Joining In
From files of the latest game update, well-known dataminers SpushFNBR and Wensoing claim to have found clues to a massive crossover under the theme "Gaming Legends." Specifically, the following characters, among others, are rumored to appear as skins:
- Sonic the Hedgehog and his adversary Dr. Eggman
- Mega Man
- Joker from Persona 5
- Pac-Man
- Characters from Kingdom Hearts
- A Tetris-themed appearance
The well-known leaker HypeX confirmed in his own posts that the upcoming season is rumored to be almost entirely built around crossover content with other video game brands – hence its unofficial nickname, the "Gaming Legends" Season.
How Reliable Is the Leak Really?
SpushFNBR, Wensoing, and HypeX have been among the most reliable voices in the Fortnite leak scene for years, and have regularly been correct with previous season announcements. This makes this leak significantly more credible than anonymous forum posts. Nevertheless, it remains: Epic Games has not officially confirmed any of these collaborations, and especially with major brands like Sonic or Persona 5, license negotiations can still fall through right up until the season launch. Anyone who wants to be absolutely sure should therefore continue to take this information with the necessary caution.
