Fortnite is dropping three major new features at once with Update v41.30: the long-awaited Spider-Man crossover with new skins, a Simpsons map to dive into, and the launch of Festival Season 15 featuring Lil Tecca as the new stage act. This patch also marks the last big change for Chapter 7, Season 3 – Epic is pulling out all the stops before heading into the next season.
What's in the Spider-Man Crossover
The heart of the update is the collaboration with “Spider-Man: Brand New Day.” Coinciding with the movie's release, Fortnite is bringing a new Spider-Man skin, inspired by Tom Holland, as well as a Punisher skin, modeled after Jon Bernthal, to the Item Shop. For PvP fans, it gets really exciting: Web Shooters are back in the game and will even have unlimited ammo during special “Web Shooters Power Hours.” Anyone who participated in the last Spider-Man event will recognize the concept – only this time with a fresh skin lineup and different timing.
Springfield Meets Battle Royale
The second big new feature: With “Springfield Reloaded,” Epic is sending a genuine Simpsons map into the Reload mode. The map visibly draws inspiration from the series' setting, blending famous landmarks with classic Fortnite gunplay – a crossover that, based on past experiences with licensed maps, will likely only be available for a limited time, even if Epic hasn't communicated a fixed end date yet.
Festival Season 15: Lil Tecca Takes the Stage
In the rhythm mode Fortnite Festival, Season 15 is launching concurrently with rapper Lil Tecca as the new Icon Act. Specifically, the update brings:
- Four new Jam Tracks: “Ransom,” “Dark Thoughts,” “Love Me,” and “500lbs”
- The Neon Dreams Music Pass featuring the music-reactive “Tour Ready” Lil Tecca Outfit
- Additional cosmetics like the Mic-Mace Pickaxe, the “Tecca’s World” Back Bling, and a Dopamine Tour Guitar
- The Lil Tecca Skin with an alternative “Ransom” Toon Style directly in the Item Shop
- Three new Sprites: Llama, Peely, and the rare Quack Zero Point Sprite – Peely increases the chance of weapon upgrades from ammo boxes, while Llama pings nearby rare Sprites
What This Means for You
The maintenance patch launched today at 4 AM US Eastern Time, and servers should be back online after approximately two hours of downtime – Festival Season 15 and the new skins will be unlocked immediately afterward. If you want to use the Web Shooters with unlimited ammo, make sure to pay attention to the announced Power Hours, instead of just playing randomly, as unlimited ammo only applies during these windows. All official details can be found in the official Fortnite News Hub. From our perspective, this patch once again demonstrates how much Epic now relies on major licensed crossovers instead of purely original seasonal content – while this is spot-on for reach, for players who primarily want classic Battle Royale, it also means even more thematic shifts from update to update.
While Epic provides fresh content with this update, competitive play continues simultaneously – you can read about who qualified for the next finals in our report on the last tickets in the FNCS Major 2 Last Chance Qualifier.
