Battlefield 6: September Anticheat Report – EA Prevents Nearly 440,000 Cheat Attempts

Battlefield players can breathe a sigh of relief – at least a little: EA has released its monthly anticheat report for September, which indicates a largely stable situation. The team mentions new detection methods designed to counter evasion tactics used by the cheating community. EA announces major improvements for upcoming updates.

What is the Current Cheater Rate in Battlefield 6?

The key metric is called the Match Infection Rate (MIR). It indicates the percentage of matches in which at least one cheater disrupted the game. Important: This also includes all reported suspected cases where EA doesn't have enough evidence for a ban. Here's an overview of the September figures:

  • Starting value early September: 3.51 percent (End of August: 3.24 percent)
  • Peak value: 3.64 percent on September 2nd
  • Lowest value: 3.27 percent on September 10th
  • Figure at month-end: 3.41 percent

The rate therefore remained relatively flat throughout the month. Compared to August's low of 2.89 percent, this is a small step backward, but it remains a decent level compared to the high values of previous months.

What Exactly Did EA Javelin Prevent in September?

According to EA, its in-house anticheat system Javelin intercepted 439,945 attempts to manipulate or cheat the game in September – before they could even cause damage in a match. In August, according to EA, this number was 327,756. This represents a significant increase, which is likely also related to the pressure from new features like Season 4.

Furthermore, EA is currently monitoring 111 active cheat programs, hardware solutions, providers, resellers, and their communities (one more than the previous month). For 107 of these – equating to 96.39 percent – EA reports functional failures, detection warnings, downtime, or a complete take-down of the cheats.

What Does This Mean for You as a Player?

In short: You will still occasionally encounter cheaters, but not in every match. With an MIR of around 3.4 percent, statistically about one in thirty rounds is affected. If you suspect cheating, you should continue to report players – because these reports directly influence the rate and help EA with prioritization. However, these figures come from EA itself and cannot be independently verified externally.

What's Next for Anticheat in Battlefield 6?

EA speaks of „significantly greater improvements“ that are to be rolled out with upcoming updates but provides no details or dates. Most recently, EA had already enforced the TPM 2.0 requirement and adjusted the MIR calculation. You can read about the shooter's performance in our report on the twelve-year-old GTX 750 Ti in Battlefield 6. From our perspective, the transparency is positive: EA regularly publishes the figures, even when they are not flattering. The crucial factor will be whether the rate drops back towards 3 percent after the announced measures. You can find more about the game on the official Battlefield 6 website.
