Fortnite Update 43.00: One Piece Mini-Season Kicks Off After Server Downtime

Today, Fortnite is undergoing another scheduled server downtime. Update 43.00 brings the Treasure Hunt Mini Season, featuring the long-rumored One Piece collaboration. According to GamePro, since this is a larger content drop, the downtime might take a bit longer than usual. Matchmaking was already disabled before the servers went offline.

What Does the One Piece Mini-Season Bring to Fortnite?

The collaboration revolves around the Straw Hat Pirates. According to leaks and information compiled by GamePro in their live ticker, Straw Hat Pirate skins are coming to the game. Additionally, there will be abilities you recognize from the anime:

  • Gum-Gum Fruit: Transform into Luffy, unleash rubber punches, kicks, or launch yourself through the air.
  • Flame-Flame Fruit: Become Ace with his Fire Fist.
  • Zoro's Three Sword Style: Wield three katanas simultaneously.
  • Usopp's Slingshot: A weapon for sharpshooters.
  • Nami's Tangerine: Restores health and shields and provides a speed boost when moving through water.
  • Meat on the Bone: One bite heals you, with residual healing shortly after.
  • Wanted Poster: Tear it down to find a buried Sprite Chest.

Additionally, LIL UZI VERT skins and an A$AP ROCKY ability (Shock Rocket, which rains down missiles) will appear in the Battle Pass. There are also glimpses of new Points of Interest, including Arlong Park from One Piece.

When Will The Simpsons Springfield Return?

Note: This point is based on a leak and has not been officially confirmed. According to GamePro, The Simpsons Springfield is apparently set to return to Fortnite Reload on November 12. Epic has not yet officially announced anything regarding this, so treat it with caution.

What Should Players Be Aware Of Now?

Expect a waiting period this morning. The exact duration of the server downtime is unknown; GamePro is speculating in their ticker if it might last until 9 AM. After the update, it's worth checking out the Shop and the Battle Pass, as collaborations like these are usually time-limited. From our perspective, this Mini-Season shows that Epic continues to heavily rely on pop culture crossovers: If you want to try out Luffy's Gum-Gum abilities in the Battle Royale chaos, you'll soon have the chance.
