The Esports World Cup 2026 in Riyadh is set for its second group stage segment in the Fortnite Reload competition on August 20, 2026. Following Group A's matches on August 19, Group B will now take the stage with another 20 duo teams. A total of 40 teams are battling for an overall prize pool of $1,025,000 USD, with the winning duo alone set to claim $260,000 USD.
How Does the Fortnite Group Stage Format Work at EWC 2026?
Each of the two groups will play ten matches in Reload mode. The top seven teams from each group will directly qualify for the grand finals. Teams finishing from eighth to seventeenth place will get a second chance in the Survival Stage on August 21, 2026 – where the top six teams will additionally secure a spot in the finals. On August 22, 2026, all qualified teams will clash in the grand finals in a Match Point format: the winner is the first team to reach 350 points and then additionally secure a Victory Royale.
Which Teams Are Competing in Group B?
Group B features some of the most renowned organizations in the Fortnite scene: Fnatic is sending the duo Inact and Salko, T1 is competing with Darm and Demus, and Dignitas is banking on the pairing of VicterV and Khanada. Given the fierce competition in Group B, securing a direct spot in the top 7 might be a tight race for even some favored teams – those who don't make it directly will have to prove themselves again the following day in the Survival Stage.
For the Fortnite community, the Esports World Cup has long become one of the most important fixtures on the annual calendar, not least because it offers by far the highest prize pool of any single Fortnite tournament currently. Those who wish to follow the matches can find the streams, as usual, for free on the official channels of the event; the results from Group A on the previous day already suggest that Group B will also be no walk in the park, as several top teams will have to fight for the few direct finals spots.
