Fortnite Reload Elite Series Championship: 40 Teams Battle for Over $1 Million at the Esports World Cup 2026

The Esports World Cup 2026 in Paris has kicked off one of its biggest highlights of the week with the Fortnite Reload Elite Series Championship: 40 duo teams are battling for a total prize pool of over $1 million, featuring well-known names like Bugha, Peterbot, and Sky.

How Does the Fortnite Reload Elite Series Championship Work?

The tournament runs from August 19th to 22nd, 2026, as part of the Esports World Cup 2026. On the first day, Group A will play ten matches, from which the top seven teams will qualify for the final Match Points format. Scoring throughout the group stage will be based on points from placements and eliminations, as has become standard in the Battle Royale format of Fortnite.

Which Teams Are Competing in Group A?

A total of 40 duo teams are competing, split into two groups. Group A features, among others, Bugha, one of the most recognized names in the competitive Fortnite scene, along with Peterbot and Sky. Teams that do not place among the top 7 in the ten matches will miss the finals and are out of the running for the large prize pool this year.

What is the Prize Pool for the Fortnite EWC Championship?

The total prize pool is over $1 million, distributed among the best teams from both groups. This makes the Fortnite Reload Elite Series Championship one of the more lucrative individual tournaments held as part of the Esports World Cup 2026. For comparison: In many classic Fortnite tournaments outside the Esports World Cup, prize pools are significantly lower, making this Championship one of the most attractive events on this year's competitive calendar.

From our perspective, the sheer size of the prize pool alone demonstrates how seriously the Esports World Cup is now taken as a hub for the scene's biggest names: For many teams, performing well here is now almost as important as in classic, pure Fortnite tournaments.
