Diablo IV on Switch 2: Blizzard Reveals Resolution and Framerate at Launch

Just in time for today's release on the Nintendo Switch 2, Blizzard has published the technical specifications for Diablo IV. The “Age of Hatred Collection” bundles the main game along with the two expansions Vessel of Hatred and Lord of Hatred and is now available for 69.99 Euros on the Nintendo eShop.

What Resolution and Framerate Does Diablo IV Run at on the Switch 2?

Blizzard offers two graphics modes to choose from. In Quality Mode, the game runs at 1440p at 30 fps in TV mode, and 1080p at 30 fps in handheld mode. Those who prefer a smoother experience can switch to Performance Mode: There, 1080p at 40 fps is possible – though in docked mode, only if the connected display supports at least 120 Hz. In handheld mode, Performance Mode also runs at 1080p and 40 fps. Additionally, the Switch 2 version supports touchscreen controls for menus, maps, and inventory, as well as USB-connected mouse and keyboard.

What Does the Age of Hatred Collection Bring for Switch 2 Players?

Besides the raw performance data, Blizzard has also clarified what can be carried over when switching platforms: Cosmetic items and Reliquary Battle Pass purchases transfer between linked platforms. Platinum earned through gameplay will also be transferred – only Platinum purchased directly on the Switch 2 remains exclusive to the console. Controller vibration, various accessibility options, and the Switch 2's system-wide GameChat function are also supported.

For those who have already completed Diablo IV on PC or another console, nothing changes in terms of content – but for those who want to keep playing on the go, this is a full-fledged port with true cross-progression instead of a stripped-down handheld spin-off. This is not a given: Earlier Diablo console adaptations sometimes had to accept significant compromises in graphics or controls before the franchise could even establish itself on consoles.
