Diablo IV: 30th Anniversary Celebration Gets Off to a Bumpy Start – Season Delay and Login Issues

Diablo's 30th-anniversary celebration was supposed to kick off with a bang – instead, players are getting error codes instead of fireworks. The Switch 2 release of the „Age of Hatred Collection“ coincided with the start of Season 15 on September 15, 2026, and that's precisely what became the problem.

What Problems Are There with Diablo IV's 30th-Anniversary Celebration?

Season 15 is called „Season of Hell’s Legacy“ and was slated to go live at 9:30 AM PT (6:30 PM CEST). Shortly after activation, however, reports of login problems piled up: Many players encountered error codes 3000006 and 3000008 when trying to connect, while others managed to get into the game but landed in queues or were disconnected in the middle of ongoing runs. Not only PC and console players were affected, but also, ironically, the many newcomers who wanted to enter the game for the first time on the same day via the new Switch 2 version of Diablo IV.

When Will the Delayed Season Be Rescheduled?

Blizzard reacted on launch day itself and postponed the start of Season 15 indefinitely. An official statement indicated, in essence, that they are continuing to work on the problems surrounding the launch of „Season of Hell’s Legacy,“ that the season is therefore currently postponed, they ask for patience, and will provide updates as soon as they are available. The developer has not yet named a new, definitive start date. Fans will thus have to wait until the server issues are resolved and a new window is set.

Am I Affected by the Login Issues in Diablo IV?

If you currently can't log in or are seeing one of the mentioned error messages, you're not alone – according to previous reports, the problem lies with Blizzard's server infrastructure and not individual user accounts. Currently, the most sensible approach is not to keep trying repeatedly, but to regularly check Blizzard's official channels before attempting again.

This pattern isn't entirely new, by the way: Previous Diablo IV season launches also experienced overloads and disconnections when many players tried to access new content simultaneously. The fact that this anniversary launch, in particular, coincides with the Switch 2 debut likely further increased the server load.

Further information and the current status can be found on the official Diablo IV page and in the Blizzard Support area, where Blizzard typically first reports technical issues.
