BlizzCon 2026 kicks off today at the Anaheim Convention Center – two days dedicated to all things World of Warcraft, Diablo, and Overwatch. The Opening Ceremony begins at 10:30 AM local time (7:30 PM CEST), and for those not attending in person, you can watch for free on Twitch, YouTube, and Battle.net.
When and Where is BlizzCon 2026 Taking Place?
The event is being held, as usual, at the Anaheim Convention Center in California, running on September 12th and 13th. In addition to the main stage panels, there’s a packed esports program: On the very first day, the Overwatch World Cup quarter-finals will run from 12 PM to 6 PM local time, alongside the World of Warcraft Mythic Dungeon International, the Arena World Championship, the Hearthstone World Championship, and the Blizzard Classic Cup.
What Panels and Reveals Await Fans for WoW, Diablo, and Overwatch?
For World of Warcraft, there are two separate “What’s Next” panels on the main stage on the first day, followed by a WoW Deep Dive and a dedicated panel called “World of Warcraft: Archives” on the day after. For Overwatch, developers will unveil a new hero and provide a look at upcoming gameplay changes. Diablo celebrates its 30th franchise anniversary this year, with the fitting panel “Diablo IV: What’s Next” offering a preview of upcoming content and features. How Can You Watch BlizzCon 2026 for Free?
According to Blizzard’s official announcement, all major panels and esports competitions will be broadcast live for free on Twitch, YouTube, and the Battle.net client. So, a physical ticket isn’t necessary for viewers at home, but if you want to grab Twitch Drops, you should stay logged in during the panels.
BlizzCon 2026 will also be exciting because it falls during a period where Blizzard is grappling with entirely different internal issues: It was recently revealed that the publisher will have to negotiate the use of AI with its union going forward. Whether and how much the topic of AI will be addressed in the panels themselves is likely to be just as interesting to many fans as the actual game reveals.
