Attention, Command & Conquer fans: Tempest Rising is getting its first major story add-on. It goes by the name “The Veti’s Wrath” and finally brings the game's third faction, the mysterious Veti, into the game with their own campaign. GameStar rightly calls the title from developer Slipgate Ironworks one of the coolest C&C successors of recent years.
The add-on brings a lot of fresh content:
- 11 new story missions centered around the Veti
- The Veti as a third playable faction, also for multiplayer and skirmish
- A completely new conversion and sacrifice mechanic: Defeated enemies are subdued and sacrificed to strengthen your own army
If you want to get a taste beforehand, you won't have to wait long: A free demo is already available on Steam, allowing you to try out the first two missions of the Veti campaign. You don't need the main game for this; the demo functions completely independently and is therefore also suitable for newcomers.
Coinciding with the announcement, there was also a limited-time discount promotion: Until July 13th, Tempest Rising could be snatched up with a 30 percent discount for approximately 28 instead of 40 Euros. Those who missed the promotion will simply have to grab it during the next sale. The developers have not yet named a fixed release date for “The Veti’s Wrath”, but the release is still planned for 2026.
