Nintendo fans who've only been able to watch so far will soon get their hands on it: Stellar Blade in its Complete Edition will be playable for the first time on the Nintendo Switch 2 at the upcoming Tokyo Game Show. This has been confirmed by Nintendo Life, citing official information from Sega, which physically distributes the port in Japan.
When and Where Can You Play Stellar Blade on Switch 2?
The Tokyo Game Show 2026 will take place from September 17th to 21st. Sega is setting up six demo stations in its partner area, where visitors can try out the Switch 2 version themselves. There is still no concrete release date for the port, only a rough timeframe within the current year.
What's Special About the Stellar Blade Presentation at the Show?
In addition to the hands-on area, Kim Hyung Tae, creator and art director of Stellar Blade at Shift Up, will also make a personal appearance on the Sega/Atlus stage – scheduled for Sunday, September 20th, with Japanese interpretation. According to the announcement, those unable to attend in person can also follow the appearance on Sega Japan's YouTube channel.
For context: Stellar Blade originally launched in April 2024 exclusively for PlayStation 5 and was praised for its action-heavy combat system and impressive visuals. A PC port followed approximately one year later, and in summer 2026, an age rating for the Switch 2 was finally announced – the port itself had already been revealed in June. The TGS presence is thus the next logical step to demonstrate how well the graphically demanding game actually performs on Nintendo's new hybrid console. This is relevant for Switch 2 owners because few graphically comparable action titles have been announced for the console so far – a successful port could lead to further similar adaptations.
