Containers, barrels, constant gunfire: Arguably the most chaotic map in Call of Duty history is returning. According to Activision's launch roadmap, Shipment will arrive in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4's multiplayer on October 27, 2026. This has been reported by Insider Gaming and other editorial teams, among others.
When is Shipment coming to Modern Warfare 4?
The date is set: Tuesday, October 27. This is four days after the full launch on October 23, when multiplayer is expected to become playable. Early access was already available for the campaign (October 16, for digital pre-orders) and for DMZ, which is not free (October 20). According to reports, the map's design heavily leans on the original Modern Warfare. Whether there will be a permanent 24/7 playlist has not been clearly confirmed in our sources, so we are not commenting on that.
What other dates are on the roadmap?
According to reports, the launch roadmap looks like this:
- October 16: Early Access for the Campaign
- October 20: Early Access for DMZ
- October 23: Full launch with playable Multiplayer
- October 27: Shipment returns
- October 29: New mode: Possession
- October 30: Infected returns
- November 6: Season 1 for Modern Warfare 4 and Warzone begins
A specific time for Season 1 has not yet been announced. What the Season will bring is also still unknown. Anything beyond that is currently speculation.
What does the return mean for players?
Shipment is tiny, and that's precisely its appeal. You spawn, run, and are almost immediately in the next firefight. If you want to quickly rack up kills, camos, or killstreaks, you'll find hardly a better map. Everyone knows the flip side: spawn flips, constant bombardment, and campers around the containers. If you choose the map purely based on feel, be prepared for a lot of chaos.
From our perspective, the date is cleverly chosen. A few days after launch, the community gets a piece of nostalgia, and shortly thereafter, Possession and Infected follow as suitable modes for Halloween week. Whether Shipment feels fair this time around will only be revealed in practice. For DMZ players, we also have an overview of how to start as an Operator in DMZ.
