Keep Driving: Roadtrip Management RPG Drives onto PS5, Xbox Series, and Switch

Small indie gems sometimes take a little longer to arrive on all platforms – Keep Driving is one such case. The roadtrip management RPG from Swedish developer duo Y/CJ/Y, published via Kowloon Nights, was exclusively available on PC via Steam since February 2025. Now, the roadtrip is also making its way to major consoles.

When and for Which Consoles Is Keep Driving Releasing?

As of now, Keep Driving is additionally available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch. In parallel, a nice extra is available on PC: The Steam version receives official Workshop support for mods, allowing the community to integrate their own content.

What Is Keep Driving All About?

Keep Driving combines roadtrip atmosphere with striking pixel art visuals and management elements: Players drive their own car across a randomly generated map, pick up hitchhikers, manage fuel, money, and the vehicle's condition, all while experiencing small, often very personal stories by the roadside. Since its PC release, the game has sold over 300,000 copies – a considerable success for an indie project of this scale.

Why Is the Console Release Important for the Game?

Context: It's not uncommon in the indie scene for a successful PC indie game to be ported to consoles a year and a half after its initial release – small teams usually only port once the PC release has proven economically viable and there's enough capacity for additional platform work. For Keep Driving, the jump to PS5, Xbox, and Switch primarily means one thing: A potentially significantly larger audience looking for relaxing atmospheric games away from classic action titles – especially the Switch, as a travel console, should fit well with the roadtrip theme here. Those who were already playing on PC will also benefit from the new mod support, which can extend the game's lifespan beyond its original scope.
