Rockstar Games is renowned for packing its titles with allusions that only become apparent after a second or third look. In the current Extended Look gameplay reveal for GTA 6, the most attentive fans have now noticed a particularly nice detail: While Jason and Lucia are sitting in front of the TV in one scene, a Western film is playing in the background – and the voice heard sounds suspiciously familiar.
As GamePro first reported, it's none other than Roger Clark, the voice actor for Arthur Morgan from Red Dead Redemption 2. The scene is deliberately kept short and easy to miss, but that's precisely what makes it truly interesting for many fans.
Why is Arthur Morgan in GTA 6?
The connection between the two games isn't entirely new. Even in early GTA 6 trailers, fans had discovered parallels to Red Dead Redemption 2, such as protagonist Jason's pose on a promo image for the Hawk-&-Little-Morgan Revolver, which strongly resembles Arthur Morgan's cover artwork. The name of the weapon itself is also considered a small reference to the Red Dead hero. The newly discovered voice recording fits into this tradition and shows how much Rockstar interweaves its own game history in the latest installment, without creating a direct story connection. For the developers, it's a kind of homage to one of the studio's most beloved characters, without Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA 6 actually having to exist in the same universe.
