Now it's official, or at least even more official than before: Rockstar Games has once again confirmed the launch month for GTA 6 and is immediately following up with a fresh batch of screenshots. According to IGN, the release date remains November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, as the studio continues to trickle out visual material from Vice City.
When Exactly Does GTA 6 Release in November?
The key date is November 19, 2026, exclusively for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar and Take-Two had already announced this date in November 2025, after the release originally planned for 2025 was first pushed to May 2026 and then postponed again. The current announcement provides no new date but rather a renewed confirmation: Rockstar is signaling that they are on the home stretch and currently no further delays are expected.
What Do the New Screenshots Show?
The fresh captures show protagonist Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval in new looks, alongside secondary characters like Raul Bautista, Boobie Ike, Bae-Luxe, and Roxy in everyday scenes from Leonida. Among other things, a drink from the in-game fast-food chain Chacer’s is visible, as well as several streets of Vice City by day and night. The images complement the material Rockstar had just released a few days prior, surrounding the Extended Look and a major interview feature.
For waiting players, the regularity is particularly noteworthy: After years of very sparse communication, Rockstar has been delivering new screenshots, interviews, and trailer material weekly since summer 2026. This appears to be a deliberate strategy to rebuild trust after previous delays and to fill the final months leading up to the release with content, rather than reverting to months of silence. Those who have already pre-ordered the title will at least regularly receive new talking points, even if this announcement doesn't change the price or feature set.
