GTA 6: Game Informer Cover Story Reveals Weather System, Wildlife, and Twelve New Screenshots

Rockstar opens the door to Leonida a little further: Game Informer's digital issue 382 is out today, featuring GTA 6 as its cover story. The 14-page spread includes interviews with Rockstar developers and twelve new screenshots. The game is slated for a November release.

What Does the Cover Story Reveal About GTA 6's Weather System?

According to Game Informer, Rockstar has built an "advanced" weather system. It is designed to simulate not only sunshine but also Florida's less sunny weather phenomena. IGN openly questions whether tropical storms will also await you in Leonida. This has not been confirmed, and the question remains open until specific story details are revealed.

How Extensive Will Leonida's Wildlife Be?

Reports indicate an enormous number of animals on land, in water, and in the air, including even species not native to Florida. Author Marcus Stewart, a South Florida native, also writes about how deeply Rockstar has delved into the region's culture and atmosphere. The cover features the two main characters, Jason and Lucia, in an armed vehicle.

In a related development, GamePro has picked up on another aspect: In GTA 6, we won't just be stealing cars; our own vehicles won't be safe from thieves either. So, anyone who carelessly parks their ride will need to be careful.

What Does This Mean for You and Your Expectations for GTA 6?

For players, this is the kind of detail that brings an open-world game to life: weather and wildlife influence mood, visibility, and presumably driving behavior. According to current reports, the story does not definitively state whether and how strongly this changes the game mechanics. We therefore remain cautious and await the full text.

From our perspective, the timing is cleverly chosen: just a few weeks before release, Rockstar is keeping the hype alive with controlled tidbits. For those who want to dive deeper, we already have an analysis of whether GTA 6 plays in the same universe as Red Dead Redemption 2, and the report on the Collector’s Box with its 400-euro price tag.
