GTA 6: Fans Compare Cars to Forza Horizon 6 – Rockstar's Underbodies Come Out on Top

An open-world epic, of all games, is beating a pure racing game heavyweight: Fans have compared the underbodies of vehicle models in GTA 6 with those from Forza Horizon 6. The result is surprising at first glance. Rockstar's cars are significantly more elaborately modeled from underneath.

The comparison originated from a Reddit post and was picked up by GamePro on October 8th. This is a fan comparison based on material shown so far, not an official statement from Rockstar or Playground Games.

What Does the Car Underbody Comparison Show?

In GTA 6, clearly defined individual parts can be seen on the underbody. In contrast, the same view in Forza Horizon 6 appears quite flat and uninspired. This is remarkable, as Forza typically thrives on its meticulously detailed, licensed cars and beautiful game world. Most would expect the Xbox flagship title to have an edge.

Why is Rockstar Putting So Much Work into Something Hardly Anyone Sees?

The obvious explanation: the importance of perspective differs greatly between the two games. In GTA 6, you can blow up almost anything. If you shoot out tires, the vehicle flips over and the underbody suddenly becomes visible. In Forza Horizon 6, on the other hand, the underside is almost never seen. If a car flips, you are usually reset immediately. Furthermore, in this arcade racer, you really have to try hard for a car to even flip onto its side.

This aligns with rumors circulating about Rockstar's development methods: Allegedly, entire teams are dedicated solely to individual topics such as NPC dialogues. Even professional race car drivers are said to be responsible for the driving physics. While not officially confirmed yet, this would fit the impression.

What Does This Mean for You as a Player?

Specifically, this means that crashes and rollovers in GTA 6 are intended to look not only wild but also visually clean. Whether it will truly look that spectacular in the end, you'll only find out on November 19, 2026, when the game is released for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. According to current information, a PC version is planned for 2027 – more on that in our report on how Xbox has denied exclusive cloud streaming and PC access.

From our perspective, the comparison is a nice detail, but not proof of overall quality. A single image says little about performance, driving feel, or the visuals in everyday gameplay. It rather shows that Rockstar invests in things you might only glimpse briefly – and precisely this love for detail has always defined the studio's games. Forza Horizon 6, however, remains the genre benchmark for vehicle variety and racing focus, even if the underbody is less important here.
