Another free treat from the Epic Games Store: Home – A Unique Horror Adventure is currently available completely free of charge, adding a quieter contrast to the week's second freebie during the current free period. The regular price is €4.49, but right now you pay €0. Perfect for the season, this eerie pixel-art mystery trip offers a little horror snack for the darker months. You can find the deal directly on the Epic Games Store, available until October 29, 2026.
Is Home Worth It at This Price?
Normal price: €4.49. Current price: €0. The savings are 100 percent, or the full €4.49. While the initial price is already low, a complete reduction to zero means there's no good reason not to grab the game if pixel-horror-mystery appeals to you.
Who Should Play Home?
Home is an indie horror adventure released in 2012 by developer Benjamin Rivers (BancyCo), which has since also been released on Switch, PS4, PS Vita, iOS, and Mac. Instead of real-time combat or jumpscares, the game focuses on a branching, decision-driven murder investigation in the style of a "Choose your own adventure" – your choices determine how the story ends. The pixel-art style is reminiscent of classic low-res horror games and deliberately avoids gore and splatter, leaning more towards the quiet tension of exploration titles than pure jumpscare horror. This makes it suitable for players who avoid classic survival horror but still want to experience a dark, well-told story. If you enjoy calm, atmospheric mystery games with real replay value through alternative endings, you'll get a small but excellent experience here for €0.
