Gran Turismo 7: Spec IV Part 1 is Here – Sportsland Sugo and Six New Cars

Gran Turismo 7 is getting new content: Part 1 of the Spec IV update launches on October 15th at 7:00 AM BST (3:00 AM JST), according to the PlayStation Blog, and is free for all players.

What's Included in Spec IV Part 1?

  • The legendary Sportsland Sugo track
  • Six new vehicles
  • New Car Viewer functions and an Experience Mode
  • Six new World Circuit Events
  • New Scapes locations and additional gameplay features

Among the cars are the Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo, an electric hypercar with a drag coefficient of 0.29, the 1994 Ferrari F355 Berlinetta, the Mugen Motul Civic (Group A), a Mazda GT3 Concept with a four-rotor engine, the Honda Step WGN Spada, and the Citroën 2 CV.

Which Car is Best Suited for What?

Sony offers a tip for each vehicle: The Xiaomi belongs in the Vision Gran Turismo Trophy at Spa-Francorchamps, the Ferrari and 2 CV are perfect for Sugo, and the Civic is ideal for the new Sunday Cup events. The Mazda is a great fit for a World Touring Car event, while the Step WGN is perfect for photos in Scapes mode.

What is the Gran Turismo Limited Edition DualSense?

For the series' 30th anniversary, Sony is also revealing the Gran Turismo Limited Edition DualSense Wireless Controller for the first time. According to the PlayStation Blog, the controller will be available in limited quantities worldwide with a recommended retail price of 84.99 Euros (84.99 US Dollars, 74.99 Pounds). Pre-orders begin on October 22nd at 10:00 AM local time at participating retailers, with a global launch starting December 10th.

From our perspective, Spec IV is a solid content injection: a new track and cars with vastly different characteristics, from hypercars to compact cars, give both collectors and racers reasons to jump back in. Part 1 suggests that more is yet to come.
