God of War Laufey: Pre-Orders and Editions Detailed Starting Tomorrow

Kratos and Atreus still have to wait until February, but if you want to secure God of War Laufey right now, you can do so starting tomorrow: Sony has detailed the pre-order options and editions.

When Do God of War Laufey Pre-Orders Begin?

Starting Tuesday, September 29, at 10 AM local time, you can officially pre-order God of War Laufey. The game itself will then release exclusively for PS5 on February 16, 2027. Available options include the Standard Edition (physical and digital) and the Digital Deluxe Edition, which is exclusively digital.

What Do You Get for Pre-Ordering?

Those who pre-order, regardless of edition, will receive the "Last Wish" armor set, the "Golden Leaves" appearance for Phranque, and a resource pack. The Digital Deluxe Edition additionally includes the Dark-Alchemy set (armor, blade, bow quivers, catalyst), a digital mini artbook, and the digital soundtrack.

For context: In God of War Laufey, for the first time, you don't take control of Kratos, but rather his deceased wife Faye, also known as Laufey, who unexpectedly awakens in the afterlife of the Norse gods – the so-called Everywhen – after her own funeral. This marks a significant break from series tradition, which has focused entirely on Kratos’ perspective since 2018, and is likely to be one of the biggest narrative surprises for long-time fans of the series since the 2018 soft reboot.
