Rumor: Who is Behind the GTA 6 Leaker 'Cyberleek'?

Important note: This is a rumor/speculation that has NOT yet been officially confirmed.

For weeks, a single name has captivated the GTA 6 community: "Cyberleek". The individual or group behind this pseudonym is reportedly responsible for a large part of the recent leaks surrounding Rockstar's upcoming mammoth project. Now, clues are mounting that allegedly point to the leaker's origin – sparking new discussions in forums and on social networks.

Who is the GTA 6 Leaker Cyberleek, Really?

According to a report by GamePro, several independently discovered clues suggest that Cyberleek could be from Germany. For instance, IP traces allegedly lead to servers of the German hosting provider Hetzner, and older forum posts attributed to the leaker reportedly repeatedly used the greeting "Moin, moin" – a salutation commonly used primarily in Northern Germany. Reports also suggest Cyberleek is in their mid-30s. None of this is confirmed: Neither age, origin, nor the real identity of the individual or group behind the pseudonym can currently be reliably substantiated.

How Did the Major GTA 6 Leaks Occur in the First Place?

The series of GTA 6 leaks dates back a long time: As early as 2022, a hacker operating under the name "teapotuberhacker" released dozens of video files from an early development phase, to which Rockstar immediately responded with statements and legal action. In August 2026, according to several reports, gameplay clips and alleged map material for the game world Leonida reappeared – this time, Cyberleek is said to be the perpetrator. Parent company Take-Two reportedly responded as usual with a wave of DMCA takedowns against platforms like X, Reddit, and Streamable. Our report on the GTA 6 leaker who claimed full access to the game shows how persistently Rockstar has been combating ever-new leak videos since then.

How Are Rockstar and the Community Reacting to the Identity Speculations?

Officially, neither Rockstar nor Take-Two has yet commented on the speculations about Cyberleek's identity – the company reportedly continues to focus on the legal fight against the leaks themselves rather than on public statements. Meanwhile, in the community, the new clues are sparking lively speculation: On platforms like X and in relevant forums, there is much speculation, with some theories even contradicting each other – alongside the German lead, other equally unconfirmed assumptions about the leaker's origin are circulating. For players, the debate about the identity initially changes little: What remains more relevant is how much more content will leak before Rockstar officially releases GTA 6. Just recently, for example, a new clip allegedly showed aerial footage from Vice City – we summarized what is supposedly visible in our report on the latest Cyberleek clip with Vice City aerial footage.
