Rumor: Forza Horizon 6 Reportedly Coming to PS5 in January 2027 – Disc Version Included

Is Forza Horizon 6 still coming to PlayStation 5? According to the generally reliable leaker billbil-kun, who published their information on the French site Dealabs, the racing game is expected to launch on Sony's console in early 2027. January 26, 2027, is cited as the release date. Microsoft had previously hinted at a PS5 release for late 2026.

What Does the Leak Reveal About the PS5 Version of Forza Horizon 6?

Forza Horizon 6 has been available for Xbox Series X/S and PC since May 2026. The new date would, according to IGN, avoid a clash with GTA 6. In August, Tom Warren of The Verge also reported that the game would no longer be released for PS5 this year. At the time, Playground Games had promised the opposite in a statement. The studio has not yet responded to the new report.

Why Would a PS5 Release Make Sense for Xbox?

From our perspective, this move would fit the new Xbox strategy. According to IGN, under Xbox head Asha Sharma, Microsoft is focusing on some console exclusive titles like Gears of War: E-Day and Clockwork Revolution, which are not expected to launch on PS5. Then there's the market: Forza Horizon 5 reportedly sold over five million units on PS5 and generated more than $300 million in revenue. Another release on the platform would therefore be economically understandable. It's unclear whether the PS5 version would also appear on Game Pass. The game itself is available there as a first-party title.

Until Microsoft or Forza officially announce something, everything remains speculation. Those waiting for the PS5 version should therefore take this report with a grain of salt.
