Those who enjoy brutal 90s-style retro shooters probably already know Cultic from Steam. Built by a single developer, this boomer-shooter has amassed a loyal fanbase there since its Early Access launch – and now it's making the leap to consoles. As of July 23rd, the Cultic Complete Edition is available for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
The Complete Edition bundles both previously released campaign chapters, bringing the total to a hefty 23 maps filled with pixel graphics, bloody enemies, and fast-paced gunplay reminiscent of classics like Blood or Doom. The price is $19.98 USD; German pricing information from store pages was not yet available in all regions at the time of publication.
Particularly noteworthy: Cultic is entirely developed by a solo developer under the name Jasozz Games. The fact that such an elaborate retro shooter with its own distinct art style and dense atmosphere was realized by just one person earned the game a great deal of respect within the PC community even before its console release.
For all those who love boomer shooters but haven't had a gaming PC until now, the console release is a great opportunity to finally dive in. Given the wealth of content in the Complete Edition, the transition should be well worth it for genre fans.
