Cult of the Lamb is coming to Switch 2. Developer Massive Monster has announced that the Switch 2 version will be released on October 22, 2026, which is next week. The cult sim starring the adorable lamb is thus making its debut on Nintendo's new console.
How Much Will Cult of the Lamb Cost on Switch 2?
The studio promises a fair deal. Those who already own the Switch 1 version can upgrade for free. Everyone else, according to Massive Monster, will pay the same price as the Switch 1 edition. The announcement does not specify an exact amount. The studio states verbatim: „Cultists that already own COTL on Switch 1 can upgrade for FREE, while those that don’t will have to pay the price. That price being the same amount as the Switch 1 version.“
- Release: October 22, 2026
- Switch 1 version owners: Free upgrade
- New buyers: Same price as the Switch 1 version
What Technical Improvements Does the Switch 2 Version Offer?

Is Now a Good Time to Join the Cult?
The game was released on Switch in 2022 and has since been expanded with several free and paid updates. Our colleagues at Nintendo Life called it a „satisfyingly stressful sim“ at the time and gave it 8 out of 10 points. For Switch 1 owners, the upgrade is a no-brainer because it costs nothing. From our perspective, this is a fair approach with the community, one we'd wish for from more studios. Those who don't have the game yet get an expanded package at the familiar price.
Official information about the game can be found on the Cult of the Lamb website.
